Juvéderm

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm consists of a family of hyaluronic acid fillers, each formulated to add volume to a different area of the face. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar that is naturally produced by the body and retains moisture in the skin. Because the main ingredient in Juvéderm fillers is a modified form of HA, they temporarily restore volume loss for natural-looking results.  Some Juvéderm fillers are also created with Vycross® technology, a proprietary technology designed by Allergan Aesthetics. This technology process cross-links HA molecules for a specialized, super smooth gel for optimal results.  The Juvéderm family of fillers consists of: Juvéderm Ultra XC: Juvéderm Ultra is used to add fullness to thin lips. This is ideal for individuals who wish to add plumpness to their lips for a more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing facial appearance. Results can last up to one year.  Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC: This filler corrects moderate to severe facial lines and folds to create a more youthful appearance. Results can last up to one year. Juvéderm Voluma XC: As we age, the cheeks may lose volume, and the skin begins to sag. Juvéderm Voluma XC restores volume to the Cheeks and chin for an improved facial contour. Results can last up to 2 years.  Juvéderm Vollure XC: This filler can be used to address moderate to severe facial lines and folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Results can last up to 18 months.  Juvéderm Volbella XC: This injectable gel was formulated to augment the lips and correct lines around the mouth. It can also be used to add volume below the eyes to address undereye hollows. Results can last up to one year. Juvéderm Volux XC: Juvéderm Volux is formulated to improve the definition of the jawline in patients with moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. Adding volume to this area of the face improves its shape and structure. Results can last up to one year.

Candidates for Juvéderm

Ideal candidates for Juvéderm are 21 years and older who wish to add volume to various areas of their face. The Juvéderm Procedure

These fillers are smooth, clear gels that are administered by injection. During your Juvéderm treatment, your injector will cleanse the area, and a topical numbing cream will be applied to ensure your comfort. The chosen Juvéderm filler will then be injected into the treatment area. Each dermal filler treatment typically takes 15-30 minutes to complete.

Juvéderm Results and Recovery

Juvéderm is an outpatient procedure, so you can return to most of your regular activities as soon as you wish. However, physical activity should be avoided for the first 24-48 hours to minimize swelling and bruising. Our team will provide you with specific aftercare instructions to ensure optimal outcomes. Depending on the filler used, results can last anywhere from 18 months to 2 years.
