Candidates for Breast Augmentation

The best candidates for this procedure should be in good health and not currently pregnant or breastfeeding. Candidates must not be smokers, vaping,  or regularly consume excess alcohol. At  modern surgical arts of Denver we prefer to place the implant partially under the muscle, in order to achieve longevity and a more natural result. This is sometimes called a dual plain breast implant placement.

Allergan Gummy Bear Implants

The Allergan Gummy Bear implants are made of a silicone gel formula and are known for being long-lasting and resistant to rupture. They can customize your procedure and come in different sizes, including maximum, enhanced, moderate, and minimal.

You’ll have the option of five different breast profiles, ranging from low to extra full and everything in between. These silicone breast implants each have a different level of gumminess to meet the needs of various patients.

These cohesive implants tend to be safer and designed as the silicone does not leak too much beyond the shell itself if there is a potential failure of the device in the future.

Mentor BOOST Implants

Mentor BOOST implants are stable gel implants that deliver a natural look and feel and promote shape retention over time. You can choose different Mentor BOOST projections and fullness, including moderate plus and high profiles.

The boost implants also tend to be safer in design, compared to traditional silicone implants, as the gel maintains its shape, and stays close to the surface of the implant, if there is a leak in the future.

Breast Implants Recovery and Results

At modern Surgical Arts of Denver, Dr. Dastoury believes in combining a holistic approach to Western science and surgical recovery.

Patients are usually started on a science based  vitamin recovery pack two weeks ahead of their surgery, in order to enhance and optimize their repair potential. We also increase protein intake as part of that plan preoperatively as well.

After surgery patients, continue with their vitamin recovery pack, along with herbal supplementation that has been proven to decrease inflammation pain, and bruising part of that supplementation includes a proven smoothie regimen of certain fruits and vegetables to be part of the patients diet  over the next three weeks of healing.

After your surgery, you will be sent home in gauze and a supportive bra to reduce any swelling and support the breasts as they are healing. You must avoid physical activity and lifting for a few weeks to heal properly.

Although breast implants can last a long time It has been recommended that patients undergo implant evaluation at 10 years. Recent FDA updates. Will breast augmentation increase my risk of breast cancer?

Breast implants do not increase your risk of breast cancer. However, the FDA has identified a possible link between breast implants and an exceedingly rare type of cancer of the immune system related to textured implants called Anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL ). This is a type of cancer that relates to the lining or capsule in contact with the textured surface of the breast implant and is not necessarily related to breast tissue. This is one of the reasons why, at Modern Surgical Arts, we do not offer textured implants to our patients, and all of our implant surfaces are smooth, substantially reducing the risk of this type of cancer. n Our team will help you thoroughly understand the risks during a consultation.

Should I wait until I am done having children to have augmentation?

You can still have children after breast augmentation, but it’s recommended that you be finished before undergoing surgery. Additional pregnancies can impact your results, requiring you to have additional procedures to maintain them.

A breast augmentation does not lift the breasts directly—it simply enhances their volume. The first three days after surgery are typically the most uncomfortable due to swelling and soreness. However, most patients notice a significant reduction in discomfort once this initial period has passed.

How long after breast augmentation will I know my bra size?

Swelling may take six to eight weeks to subside, and your implants will continue to settle into place during this time. Once this process is complete, you can start determining your bra size. However, it may take a few more months for your breasts to experience minor changes in size and position.
